Who is this program for? Riders of all ages looking to excel their skill level, fitness and training knowledge are welcome to join! Whether you are a master or junior, enduro, road or cross-country rider, this program is a time for all of us to combine forces and join RMCC’s Junior Race Team on workouts. The skill and fitness level required for this program is high. If you are a rider who’s keen on learning more about Cyclocross, training for cycling and looking for a bit of a challenge, then this program’s for you!
WEEK 1: CYCLOCROSS CLINIC
Sept 19, 20, 21 and 26 with Jelly Belly Rider Nic Hamilton and Rebound Cycle 4:30-6:30pm
A time for new and seasoned cross riders to hone their skills andknownledgeof cross riding,racingand training. Refresh fundamental skills, develop race tactics, and learn the basics of bike set up and mechanics for cross. The clinic is over the course of 4 evenings
WEEK 2-6: CYCLOCROSS PRACTICES
5 Thursdays Sept 28-Oct 26 4:30-6:30pm
Cross bikes are not mandatory. Mountain bikes are perfectly acceptable. Practice will be followed by short strength session
Strength: Fundamental Lifts for Cycling Power
Four Tuesdays Starting Oct 3 4:30-7pm At Bill Warren Training Centre
Cycling specific strength program tailored to each athlete and their specific stage in development. Emphasis will be placed on learning the key components of Olympic lifts that are critical to all athletes for power development. Riders will be divided into 2 groups depending on ability, experience and growth phase. Group 1 will start at 4:30pm, Group 2 at 5:45 pm. 4 weeks: Oct 3,10,17,24
Long Fall Rides and Adventures
Every Wednesday Starting Sept 27-Oct 25 4-7pm,Weather permitting
Fall is a fantastic time to explore the Rockies on your bike and on foot. Every Wednesday will bring something different. Practices will be a mix of road, mountain, cross and even hiking, with an emphasis on exploring new trails and terrain. Workouts will be based on the fall cross race schedule.
Fall Mountain Bike Camp
Oct 7-9 or 13-15 Dates and location TBD depending on weather
Campwill be held in Golden, Bragg Creek or South Kootenays. 3 days of solid mountain biking epics. More details to come!
