Are you looking to learn some skills to enjoy Canmore’s awesome trails on two wheels? Then join us for RMCC’s Men’s MTB 101 Program, and get ready to have some fun in the world of mountain biking!

MTB 101 is geared to riders who are comfortable riding on easy off-road trails and offers a fun & supportive environment to work on skills for getting onto our local singletrack trails.

Through five weekly sessions, we will cover the mountain biking fundamentals:

  • bike set-up and safety check
  • balance and body position
  • efficient shifting, proper gearing and braking
  • climbing and descending
  • cornering and obstacles
  • wheel lifts, roll downs and straight-line riding
  • common trailside mechanical repairs

In addition to working on these skills, Coach John Smits will provide lots of time on to apply what you’ve learned on a variety of local trails.

Wednesdays, May 24 – June 21 from 6:15 to 8:45 pm

Cost $250* + RMCC membership/insurance

Please Note:

All participants require a mountain bike (either front or dual suspension) in good working condition and a helmet. Bike gloves are strongly recommended. Come prepared for all weather conditions, as we will not let the rain stop us.
