Get Ready to Ride! Our Spring Revolution Program is back.

Join us for our developmentally-appropriate youth mountain biking programs where having fun is always on the top of our agenda. Kids will acquire, refine and master the fundamentals of mountain biking in a social and energized environment while exploring some of our awesome local trails.

Special events are organized throughout the program – like mixed-ages relay races and the Rampage Revolution kids race, giving kids opportunities to put their new-found mountain bike skills into action!

Parent Volunteers:
We rely on the support of parents to make these programs a success.  Parents are needed to assist the coaches and riders throughout the program. We encourage all parents to volunteer for at least one or two sessions. All parent volunteers require club membership/insurance. A free one-day membership is available.

Please Note:
Each group will have a Coach and Parent Helper(s). We require each participant to have a well-fitting helmet free of damage/cracks/dents and a mountain bike of suitable size that is in good working condition. Bikes must have hand brakes (not pedal/coaster brakes). The helmet must be a cycling-specific helmet with CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) approval. Full face helmets are not appropriate. Some sessions may need to be cancelled or shortened due to weather. Racing will be encouraged as a fun and motivating means towards developing skills.

Ride More Discount:
Riders in the Spring Revolution can take advantage of a $25 registration discount* for our  Summer Youth MTB Camps! Send us an email to ask for the discount code before registering and get ready to ride even more!

Spring Revolution Age Groups

Bike Tykes U7 (born 2011/2012)
*must be 5 years old by first day of program
Built around our youngest riders, Bike Tykes introduces the basic skills of mountain biking with minimal instruction. The focus is on letting them develop and discover through fun and games. Some of the skills covered in this program include neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting (if applicable), climbing, descending, falling, trail etiquette and road safety rules. Note: bikes with hand brakes (not pedal/coaster brakes) are required to participate.

Gear Groms U9 (born 2009/2010)
Watch their confidence soar as we work towards refining the basic skills of mountain biking and begin to introduce a few advanced skills. Participants will cover neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, falling, choosing a line, carrying a bike, weight distribution, cornering, obstacles and trail etiquette.

Pedal Punks U11 (born 2007/2008)
These “punks” will be thrilled as they begin to master the basic skills while continuing to develop their technical abilities. Some of the skills covered in this program include neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, falling, choosing a line, carrying a bike, weight distribution, cornering and ratcheting, obstacles, straight line riding, front wheel lifts and roll downs. Riders at this level may put their new skills to the test with a trip to Banff to ride some freeride trails, such as Star Wars and Stoney Squaw.

Chain Gang U13 & U15 (born 2003-2006)
Quickly covering the basics of mountain biking, the Chain Gang will spend the majority of its time refining trail technique and aptitude. Some of the skills covered in this program include neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, falling, choosing a line, carrying a bike, weight distribution, cornering and ratcheting, obstacles, straight line riding, front and rear wheel lifts, roll downs, and more. Riders at this level may put their new skills into action with a trip to Banff to ride some freeride trails, such as Star Wars.

Is your young rider ready to take it to the next level?

Riders who have been with RMCC’s Youth Revolution for a few seasons, or have equivalent riding experience, and are ready to take it to the next level can check out our two awesome youth racing programs:

  • For skilled riders ages 11 to 18, our All Mountain Program (AMP) focuses on enduro style riding and racing.
  • Our Rampage Program focuses on cross-country style riding and racing and is for dedicated riders ages 12 to 18.
