Learn to Race

*We are sad to announce that due to Covid-19 all spring and summer programs have been cancelled.

5 WEEK LEARN TO RACE PROGRAM

Are you someone who has thought it would be cool to do a race but you’re not sure if you are ready?  You are wondering things like: am I fit enough to race 12.5km?  Do I have the skills to do this race?  Well you do!  There are several different levels of racing and it’s fun to try them out.  Races are fun from a social aspect, pushing your abilities a little and seeing what you can do on your bike.  A way to feel more comfortable is to feel prepared.  What do I do if a faster rider needs to pass me…or if I need to pass a rider in front of me, how do I pace myself properly,  do I need to know any race tactics? What should I eat and drink during the race?

If this is you…then this is the program for you.  Martha Hanford is an experienced racer and coach and will teach you everything you need to know to do your first race.  The program will finish in time for your to register for Rundle’s Revenge on June 27 and put your new skills to the test.

  • this program is for people who have never raced before or who are beginner racers.  (This is not a race training group).  Participants must be able to ride 1.5 hours at a moderate pace.

Program dates & details:Dates:

Dates: May 26 – June 23 Tuesday  6:15-8:45

Cost $250* + RMCC membership/insurance
*All participants will receive an awesome RMCC swag included in the program fee. Wicked deal!

Also check out our MTB 101 & MTB 201 Weekend Camps!

Please Note:
All participants require a mountain bike (either front or dual suspension) in good working condition and a helmet. Bike gloves are strongly recommended. Come prepared for all weather conditions, as we will not let the rain stop us.

Registration opens March 2 – don’t let the boys have all the fun!
