Men’s MTB Skill Sessions

Have you been riding for awhile and wondering how to take your skills to the next level?

Do you want to improve your confidence, bike maneuvering and technical ability? Then the RMCC Men’s Skill Sessions are for you!

Now offered for men by popular demand – the RMCC Skill Sessions are for intermediate or advanced riders who are comfortable on trails like Highline, Soft Yogurt and EKG. Riders registering for these sessions should be confident on their bike and be proficient with braking, riding in control and riding uneven terrain. Feel free to drop us a line if you are unsure if these programs would be suitable for you, and also check out our Men’s 4-Week MTB 101/201 Program.

Skill Session Dates & Descriptions

Pumping and Jumping

May 18 (wed) from 6:15 to 8:45 pm

Learn a variety of bike maneuvers that will help you feel the rush of some air time while building confidence and bike handling skills.  Coach Jeff will start you off rolling small drops, learning several wheel lifts and build up to larger drops and table top jumps. All this will be done in a local Canmore bike park.

Please Note:
A full suspension bike is recommended for this session (front suspension a must). Arm pads and knee pads are also recommended but not required. Participants must have flat pedals and flat shoes on for this session.

Bunny Hops and Wheel lifts

June 1 (wed) from 6:15 to 8:45 pm

Want to get more pop, hop and play out of your ride? Join our awesome coaches for this session to get your wheel lifts amped! Coaches will build from front wheel lifts into manuals and bunnyhops with step-by-step coaching. Then we’ll take it to the trail to put the new skills into action.

Descending steeps

June 17 (Friday) from 6:15-8:45 PM

Can ride downhill but want more confidence in picking your line and controlling your bike while still keeping your speed?  Join RMCC coach’s to learn the skills you need to improve your riding. You will ride away from this program with a new confidence and some new skills to practice.

Cornering technique to gain confidence and speed

May 20 (Friday) from 6:15-8:45 PM

Increase your speed and confidence when riding berms, flat corners, corners with drops and obstacles in them.

All Session Costs:

Cost $60 per 2.5 hour sessions* + RMCC membership/insurance

Please Note:

All participants require a mountain bike in (either front or dual suspension) good, working condition and a helmet. Bike gloves are strongly recommended. Come prepared for changing weather conditions, as we will not let the rain stop us!

Registration opens March 1. Don’t wait — each session is limited to just 6 riders!
