RMCC Express team is for those kids who are at the Train to Compete level of LTAD in Cycling and want to compete across a variety of sanctioned categories and disciplines including XCO, Enduro, Road and Cyclocross. This program is also open to Adults at an advanced level of riding who are looking to compete at local and national level races.

The Express team will be broken down into two 6 month segments. April – Sept and Oct – March.
April 1 – September 30
This program is for kids who are at the age/ability of “Train to Compete” level in Canada Cycling’s Long Term Athlete Development Model. (15 +), and advanced adults looking to compete at local and national level races. The spring/summer group will focus on XC riding and will be an extension of the Rampage program (road riding will also be a component of this program). These riders will have instructional time with a coach 3 times a week and will be given additional training plans for non-instructed days of the week. The non-instructed days will be individualized to the riders needs and goals. The riders will also be required to have a mountain bike, road bike, heart rate monitor, bike computer, training peaks account (free account) and report weekly through training peaks program to their coach. This group will compete in mountain bike races in BC and Alberta (can also compete in road races or cyclocross if interested) and have the opportunity to participate in Canada Cups in Quebec and Ontario. Mon: 5:30-7:30
Wed: 5:30-7:30
Sat: 10:00-12:00+ (Saturday rides will be variable to accommodate longer mtb or road rides)
Individual program time: Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sunday (program will be given by the coach through training peaks and will be individual to the riders needs and goals)
October 1 – March 31
This program is for any rider in our race programs (AMP, Rampage, Road Warriors and Masters) who are at the age/ability of “Train to Compete” level in Canada Cycling’s Long Term Athlete Development Model (15+). The fall/winter group will do one day a week of instructed activity with a coach and the rest of their program will be on the trainer and in the gym. Riders will be required to have an indoor smart trainer, HR monitor, bike computer, training peaks account (free account) and report weekly through training peaks program to their coach. Programs will be individualized to the athletes needs, goals etc. An application to be in this program is required. Please email me at admin@rundlemoutaincyclingclub.com for an application.

Individual program time: 6 days a week. A program will be given by the coach through training peaks and will be individual to the riders needs and goals
Cost of program:
Spring/summer: $2354 (plus coaching at out of province races**)
Fall/winter: $803
**Cost of races will vary depending on number of racers, location of the races etc…Coaching for local Alberta races will be covered by the club, but for out of province races, the cost of having a coach with the athletes will be subsidized by club and the rest split amongst the racers attending.
***This program is code protected and riders interested in the program must chat first with the Head Coach to see if they are a fit for the program.
Volunteer Requirements & Bond: The Express program is subsidized by RMCC – Express rider families are required to volunteer 12 hours with RMCC events and activities to make this subsidy possible. A volunteer bond of $300 is required to register for the program. Please prepare a cheque post-dated for Oct 1, 2024 and pass on to the Rampage Head Coach at the first session. If you meet the volunteer requirements, RMCC will destroy or return your cheque.
The volunteer requirement for parents/guardians of Rampage riders may be satisfied by participating in one of the items below:
-RMCC Executive, Event Organizer, or Committee Position
-Participate in a number of hours of volunteer time at any of the volunteer opportunities, specifically the Casino, bike swap, cyclocross race, road race, RMCC hosted Mountain Bike Race.

In order for athletes to receive any additional reimbursements (Race Subsidies, Youth Race Fund, etc.) from RMCC, the volunteer requirements must be completed in full.
Please note: Riders are required to wear the most recent RMCC kit to qualify for financial support. ABA/UCI junior racing license and race entry fees, for races athletes choose to participate in, are in addition to the program fees. Race reimbursements for those completing their volunteer commitments are available. Express athletes are required to have the RMCC jersey and shorts.
**IMPORTANT: IF you think you are going to do more than one race this summer in Alberta (Road, XCO or cyclocross) then please go to the ABA site and get your ABA race license first (before you get your RMCC membership) and then get a code from admin@rundlemountaincyclingclub.com so you are not charged twice for insurance.
