- Intermediate-level riders will refine the fundamentals and learn some more progressive maneuvers as well as tight and high-speed cornering techniques, climbing and descending in more challenging terrain and dynamic riding for more efficient riding. Riding will take place on mostly blue terrain.
- Intermediate+-level riders will take it to the next level on all-mountain terrain — we will apply our progressive skills on more challenging terrain all while gaining speed and air depending on your comfort and control. Riding will take place on blue and black terrain.

5-WEEK SKILL PROGRESSION: Are you a confident rider who wants to feel more in control and able to ride through all types of terrain? Would you like to corner faster, descend steeper lines, maintain speed while coasting over bumps and drops, feel balanced and in control on skinnies and show your kids how to go over the jumps at the bike park? If you answered yes to all or some of these questions, this 5-week program is for you!
The focus of the program is on all-mountain terrain — we will start by learning the techniques associated with a specific skill, practice it on features to help you gain an understanding of the movement and the confidence to use it regularly and then take it onto the trail to make it stick. Skills we will focus on are high-speed cornering, descending steep terrain, progressing balance and bike body separation, pumping and jumping and intro to drops. This program is geared toward high intermediate or advanced riders looking to move to the next level in their biking.
DATES AND DETAILS:
Tuesdays, May 14 – June 11 from 6:15 to 8:45 pm
Cost $250* + RMCC membership/insurance
SINGLE SKILL SESSIONS
Cost of sessions $60 + RMCC membership/insurance
Have you been riding for a while and wondering how to take your skills to the next level? Do you want to improve your confidence, bike maneuvering and technical ability? Then the RMCC Women’s Skill Sessions are for you!
Skill Sessions focus on a specific skill and are geared toward intermediate or advanced riders. Riders registering for these sessions should be confident on their bike and be confident braking and riding in control on uneven terrain. Feel free to drop us a line if you are unsure if these programs would be suitable for you.
Intro to Jumping: Wed May 22, 6:15 pm-8:45 pm.
This session will focus on progressive jumping technique. We will get you comfortable with gaining air (and looking rad!) on your bike. Instruction will take place on green and blue jumps only and each individual can progress at their own pace depending on comfort and control. Flat pedals and flat shoes are recommended for this session
Cornering with Technique, Speed and Confidence: Wed June 19, 6:15 pm-8:45 pm
Not sure where your body or bike should be when riding corners? This course will help you understand the different types of corners such as tight, flat, and bermed, and how to ride each one with confidence. Coaches will work to help you increase your speed through the corners and work on more challenging terrain. This course is for intermediate and advanced riders.
Descending Steeps: Wed June 5, 6:15pm-8:45 pm
Riding in the mountains requires good bike control through all types of terrain. Descending steep terrain can be hard for many riders as they struggle with loose surfaces, obstacles, or different grades of steepness. Poor body position can make descending steep terrain challenging. This session will show you how proper body position and bike control will allow you to gain more confidence while descending. This course is for intermediate and advanced riders.
