Darren Anderson: Head Coach
Darren started racing bikes back in 1996 on the mountain bike doing the Alberta XC circuit. Training for XC, he developed a passion for riding and racing on the road as well. After moving to Canmore back in 2006 he was a member of RMCC’s Banff Bike Fest teams that competed against some of the best young road racers in Western Canada at the time. Darren spent several years racing on the Cat 1/2 Alberta Cup Circuit and won the inaugural Three Sisters Parkway Cat 1/2 Road Race that has become the signature event of the Rundle Mountain Road Festival.
When he is not riding you can find Darren involved in youth sport throughout the Bow Valley. He is a PE teacher, Volleyball Coach, and Athletic Director at Canmore Collegiate High School and is also the President and founder of the Rocky Mountain Volleyball Club and the Bow Valley Basketball Officials Association. He is very excited to be back in the Alberta Road Racing scene passing on his knowledge to the next generation of road racers.
