Get Ready to Ride! Spring Youth Revolution is back.
Join us for our developmentally-appropriate youth mountain biking programs where having fun is always on the top of our agenda. Kids will acquire, refine and master the fundamentals of mountain biking in a social and energized environment while exploring some of our awesome local trails.
Dates & details
- Three options to choose from —
- Canmore: 15 Session Program for ages 5-U13
- Girls Only: 7 Session program for beginner and intermediate-level riders for ages U13
- NEW THIS YEAR: are you 13-15 years old? You ride your bike but you would still love a group to ride with and learn some skills to make you a better rider? We have a course for you: 7 sessions TEEN PROGRAM
- We are hoping to have a Year-end BBQ on Sunday, June 26 following the usual morning program session. Location TBA. ***but this will be dependent on covid restrictions!
- Some sessions may need to be shortened or cancelled due to poor weather.

Canmore Program (15 Sessions) for Ages 5 – U13
Cost $260* + RMCC membership/insurance.
* Includes a RMCC dry wick, technical t-shirt
- Two sessions per week on Wednesday’s 5:30-7:00 PM & Sunday’s 9:30-11:00 AM (15 sessions total)
- Runs May 4 to June 26
- No sessions on Sunday, May 22 for the Victoria Day long weekend
Girls Only Beginner and Intermediate Programs (7 Sessions) for Ages U13
Cost $125* + RMCC membership/insurance.
* Includes a RMCC dry wick, technical t-shirt
- Sunday’s 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (7 sessions total)
- Runs May 8 to June 26
- No sessions on Sunday, May 22 for the Victoria Day long weekend
- All sessions will take place in Canmore, though location will vary.
TEEN PROGRAM: NEW THIS YEAR: (7 sessions)
Coed program for teens ages 13-15
Cost $125* + RMCC membership/insurance.
* Includes a RMCC dry wick, technical t-shirt
- 13-15 years old: Sunday’s 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (7 sessions total)
- Runs May 8 to June 26
- No sessions on Sunday, May 22 for the Victoria Day long weekend
- All sessions will take place in Canmore, though location will vary.
This program is for intermediate level teens who are looking for a fun riding group and some instruction to learn how to ride with more skill and confidence. Learn how to ride berms with better body position, increase your confidence on steeper terrain, learn how to climb those more technical uphill sections all while having fun on your bike.
Intro Jump Camps for U9 – U13
Cost $55 + RMCC membership/insurance.
Looking to have some fun getting the wheels off the ground? This camp will introduce riders to wheel lifts and jumping skills in a safe and progressive intro-level session. The half-day camp will take place at Canmore Nordic Centre using the bike park and Soft Yogurt. This session is for riders who are confident with their mountain biking skills and should be confident riding blue/intermediate trails like Soft Yogurt or EKG at the Nordic Centre for example.
- U9 (born 2014/2015 ): 5:30-7:30 on Thursday May 19 or Thursday June 9
- U11/U13 (born 2013-2010): 5:30-7:30 on Thursday, May 26 or Thursday June 16
Parent Volunteers:
We rely on the support of parents to make this program a success and keep the price low. Parents are needed to assist the coaches and riders throughout the program. We encourage all parents to volunteer for at least one or two sessions. All parent volunteers require club membership/insurance (a complimentary one day membership/waiver is offered)
Please Note:
Each group will have a Coach and Parent Helper(s). We require each participant to have a well-fitting helmet free of damage/cracks/dents and a mountain bike of suitable size that is in good working condition. Bikes must have hand brakes (not pedal/coaster brakes). The helmet must be a cycling-specific helmet with CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) approval. Full face helmets are not appropriate. Some sessions may need to be cancelled or shortened due to weather. Racing will be encouraged as a fun and motivating means towards developing skills.
Cancellation Policy – Programs
Written cancellation 10 days or more prior to the program will receive a full refund minus an administration fee of $20. Cancellation in writing less than 10 days prior to the program start date will not be refunded or credited. Please note that there is no refund for membership fees, only program fees.

- Free training through the National Coaching Certification Program’s. One course is on line and the other is a one day basic cycling skills course in Canmore or Calgary. Course dates TBA (will be in the spring before the programs start)

Spring Revolution Age Groups
Bike Tykes U7 (born 2016/2017*)
*must be 5 years old by first day of program
Built around our youngest riders, Bike Tykes introduces the basic skills of mountain biking with minimal instruction. The focus is on letting them develop and discover through fun and games. Some of the skills covered in this program include neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting (if applicable), climbing, descending, falling, trail etiquette and road safety rules. Note: bikes with hand brakes (not pedal/coaster brakes) are required to participate.
Gear Groms U9 (born 2014/2015)
Watch their confidence soar as we work towards refining the basic skills of mountain biking and begin to introduce a few advanced skills. Participants will cover neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, falling, choosing a line, carrying a bike, weight distribution, cornering, obstacles and trail etiquette.
Pedal Punks U11 (born 2012/2013)
These “punks” will be thrilled as they begin to master the basic skills while continuing to develop their technical abilities. Some of the skills covered in this program include neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, falling, choosing a line, carrying a bike, weight distribution, cornering and ratcheting, obstacles, straight line riding, front wheel lifts and roll downs.
Rock Stars U13 (born 2010/2011)
Quickly covering the basics of mountain biking, the Rock Stars will spend the majority of its time refining trail technique and aptitude. Some of the skills covered in this program include neutral position, mounting/dismounting, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, falling, choosing a line, carrying a bike, weight distribution, cornering and ratcheting, obstacles, straight line riding, front and rear wheel lifts, roll downs, and more.
